Haliburton
Come ride Haliburton with Ontario Snowmobile Adventures

Haliburton County is well known for it's wide, smooth trails and
lots of snow. They cater to snowmobilers and they are waiting for you.

Trail to Haliburton

This picture was taken on a trip that four of us made from
Mckellar to Haliburton.

Left Mckellar at 9:25 On Monday morning Feb.1997. Destination Kennisis Lake in Haliburton
County. Reached Huntsville at 12:48
had lunch at the Hyway Motel and restaurant,  gassed up before we left.
Gassed up again at Dorset as station was right on trail. Lots of deer through this area. Arrived at Windamere at 5:45. Distance 201 Km. There were supposed to be two restaurants available but when we arrived we found that at 5:00 there wasn't any place open for supper. One restaurant was only open for the summer months so.....
Cooking supper
we made due, the old fashion way.
Hot-dogs in the fireplace.
This was a saddle bag trip and they didn't think I needed to bring food and take up valuable space but they sure where happy I had them in the end.  We stayed at Windermere Cottage Resort, clean, cozy and affordable cabins with showers.
The next day we spent the day touring through
Haliburtons Wild Life Center only minutes from the Resort. You have to have a special pass to go into the Center. The trails are beautiful and
well groomed. We put on 100 km in a short day. Wed. after breakfast we headed for home. Got gas at Deerhurst Inn and stopped at the Sprucedale Hotel for lunch at 3:00. Windermere to Sprucedale is 120 km. We arrived back home in Mckellar at 5:45. Total trip 475 Km.

Ice scene
The scenery on
our trip was beautiful.
There were a lot of Ice
sculptures along the way.

We have made several trips to the Haliburton, Minden area over the years.
There are lots of places to stay and there are no shortage of good trails.

If you're looking for reliable snow conditions and the challenge of climbing hill after
hill the 1,200 km's of groomed trails in the Haliburton Highlands are just the ticket.

We have hauled into Haliburton and stayed at some nice places, sledding
around the area. I have listed some links on the left of places to stay in the area.
