Feb... 6th 2003
This was just a fabulous weekend of glorious
snowmobiling, great hospitably,and good friends.
We had 2 of the best guides anybody could ask for and they kept us on our toes for the entire time we were up here. Thanks Guys!
Our accommodations were excellent.
The rooms are bright, super clean, and the owners
do everything in their power to accommodate your specific needs. It is on our list of places to return to.
Quiet Bay Log Motel and Restaurant is conveniently located  on HWY 1 24. 7km west of Magnetawan on Amic Lake. 705 387-0115. Regula, Walter, Philip & Simon Reich welcomes you.

They offer large rooms with
two Queen size beds.
TV -  Phone

There is a hot tub outside
on the deck that we enjoyed
every night after sledding.

Each morning and early evening
the deer are fed right behind the motel
offering some real close up viewing
of the herds of deer found in the
Magnetawan deer yards.

Some rooms include
a full Kitchenette.
Microwave - Frig - Stove
all pots - pans - Towels
We sled late and find that
kitchenettes are best as
restaurants can be closed by
the time we get in at night.

Pictured here is our Guides, Die-hard sledders who showed us a great time all weekend.Living in the area they know the lakes and trails allowing us to do some serious lake running. We sled with them every chance we get. My Sister In-law and brother, Jen and Doug.

Feb 6th 2003
We had checked into the motel in the morning . Got unpacked, sleds unloaded and got out on the snow as soon as we could.
We did a round trip to Mckellar and back to the Motel for a short trip. 104kms

Feb 7th 03
Left motel around 9:45 ( Very cold Morning) so we didn't leave too early. About 30 below.
Filled up with gas in Dunchurch then proceeded on down to the Pikes Peek Trail where we met Doug and Jen. Quiet Bay Motel - Trail C104D to C trail to 401. 401 to 404 to 402 to 405 to C trail to 414 to Esso station south of Nobel.
Followed the 414 to North on C trail - to south on C to Jolly Roger. Roughly 4 pm. We had lunch at the Jolly Roger which was excellent.
C trail south to C103D to C101.
Left Doug and Jen at East Trail 803 (their Route home)
We went C101 - C104D back to Motel - 7:00 pm
91/2 hour day - 222 Kms.

Feb 8th 2003 272 Km Day

16kms from motel to Magnetawan
113kms Magnetawan to Jake's Restaurant in Port Loring. No washrooms on this trail.  138kms Port Loring to Mckellar and back to the Motel. Snowy and blowing all day. Doug's sled broke down on the 2nd part of Wawashkesh Lake. We towed him to Ardbeg where we left it. We doubled up and proceeded on to Mckellar. All the guys piled into the truck and drove up to pick up Doug's sled. When they got back we piled back on our sleds and headed back to our Motel at Ahmic Lake.  Arrived at 12:20 at night.
This is one of those nights where we were glad we had our own kitchenette.

One of the greatest weekends
we have had on snow.
Good company - Great trails
Awesome scenery - Tons of snow
